World Cup 2010 Qualifiers

The World Cup 2010 Qualifiers are under way as we all know and it is time to fire up people. A convincing 3-0 win over Qatar and a great 0-0 result away to China has the Socceroos at the top of Group 1. We now turn our attention to the 4 matches in June.

The FFA today announced that Brisbane will host the next match against Iraq on Sunday June 1st and then to Sydney for the final match against China on Sunday June 22nd. As a Gold Coaster I have no excuses to miss out on the Suncorp match and how could I miss watching in probably the Best Venue in Australia to watch Football in. I would like to think that a capacity crowd of 52,500 will attend and cheer on the Socceroos. And just try keep me away from ANZ stadium in Sydney, I will be there with bells on.

What do you need?

  • Tickets
  • Flights
  • Accommodation
  • A place to Drink

I will start with Tickets and Drinking now and get back to you on flights and accommodation in the next few days.

TICKETS

Tickets – If you are NOT a member of the Football Family, click on this link and register. This will give you access to tickets a few days prior to general public sale. You MUST do this before this Tuesday April 8th to have access to these tickets.

HOME END

The Home End is a place for Passionate Football Supporters. This will be at the Northern end behind the Goals in both Brisbane and Sydney. Although there are seats, you will NOT be using them. DO NOT buy tickets here if you would like to sit down during the game as you will NOT have the support of the fans around you. This is not an exclusive area but the Passionate supporters who will STAND here do not want people sitting down and then complaining about not seeing.

This will also be home to the Green and Gold Army, The National Team Supporters group and a great bunch of guys and gals who want nothing more than to present a United Group of Supporters singing and chanting for the entire match. I am sure the Socceroos felt that on the night of November 16, 2005. This is also where me my friends from Kickoff will be Standing

A PLACE TO DRINK

Drinking at the Caxton prior to the Paraguay Match

If the Paraguay match (October 2006)is anything to go by, the venue of choice for the Green And Gold Army will be The Caxton Hotel. This was packed and pumping for the Paraguay match back in 2006. However Caxton Street is home to about 6 pubs/bars so getting a drink will be easy. These pubs are the closest to the Stadium.

Cheers

Terry
