Do you want Cheap Phone calls from your Mobile phone when you are next overseas? Either calling back home or finding your mate in that bar around the corner that you just can’t seem to find.
Did you know that when you ring your mate around the corner, you are actually making an international call back to Australia then an International call to the country you are in. Also your mate will pay for receiving that call.
Wouldn’t you rather be spending your hard earned cash on sampling the local brew or just having fun whilst following the Socceroos?
I have just found out about TravelSIM. You purchase an International SIM card which is yours for life and all you do is add credit to it. It will work in most phones and works in 144 countries. (Unfortunately not in Qatar where some of you Aussies may be heading in June.) But in Bahrain the call rate is a flat 60 cents per minute and free to receive calls. Check out their web site for what countries it works in.
What’s so good about it?
- No contract.
- No minimum Spend.
- Works in just about any handset.
- Most calls you receive will be free. (Depends on the Country).
- Save up to 80% in phone calls.
- No massive bill to pay when you get home.
- Top Up online, on your handset or automatically.
What’s not so good?
- You get a new Phone Number.
- It won’t work if you have a Three handset.
- Your SIM will reset if you don’t use it for 6 months.
If you can get over having to tell your mates a new phone number, I think this is a great idea. Anything to save me cash that I can spend having a good time must be worth looking at.

Certainly looking into this one Tezza… happy to flick a bit of commish your way as well… Was gonna ask if the model comes with the sim, but I thought Ant may have something to say about it (Ant having something to say….never!)
