“I’ve had an Accident”

At approximately 9pm last night i had a phone call from my youngest son, with those 4 words.

First thought – Ohh Shit.

Second thought – He rang so he must be ok.

I have been a parent for over 18 years now. It is the hardest but most rewarding job I have ever had. They grow up all too quick and then get a drivers license. We logged his 100 hours, we had a really good driver instructor teach him the finer points. (He is also a police sergeant).

But there is nothing like experience behind the wheel. Blake has had his license 46 days. It had rained for the first time in weeks and he just lost control on a flat curve. It does’nt take much.

Miraculously he and his 2 passengers escaped without a scratch. They have sore shoulders from the seat belt and one has a sore knee. But all in all they are OK. And thank God for that.

The car will more than likely be written off, but it can be replaced.

Those 4 words at 9pm were like a knife into my eye, I just could not believe I was hearing them. Tick it up as another parental experience. One I hope will never be repeated.

Drive safe people.

Gold Coast United – Up Up and Away

Up Up and Away.

The old Superman line could well apply to GCU and our Owners ambitions. Miron Blieberg with the help of Clive Palmer’s cash and Private jets has been around the globe searching for Football Talent. 3 Brazillians and a Dutchman are now part of the Squad. But the biggest catch has been Jason Cullina. PSV regular and Socceroo Regular has signed with GCU for 3 years.

Absolutely fantastic news for GCU and the A-League. Click on the links for the stories. Here is our Logo for the new franchise.

Gold Coast United

Gold Coast United

As a FAN, I am really excited about next season. I have found a really good forum to contribute to as well. There is also a guy organising a supporters club meeting.  If you are on the Coast and want to be part of the first meeting, head over to The Dog and Parrot on Monday February 2nd at 7pm. I will be there to hear what Clive has to say.

Cheers
